FAQ

We know that finding the right company to outsource your renderings to is challenging and you probably have a lot of questions to ask. As you should. It’s important to make sure that the company handling your outsourced work is dedicated, communicative, and can handle your needs.

We also know sometimes you don’t have the time to email a dozen companies and wait for their responses to get those answers. Some deadlines just approach too quickly for that luxury. So we wanted to make the process a little easier for you by creating this list with answers to our most frequently asked rendering questions.

Browse the answers below and wonder no more!

How much does it cost?

This is always the hardest question to answer as each project is vastly different from the next. Because of this, prices vary a lot depending on the size of your property or product, the amount of 3D data you have, and the level of customization. Don’t let that discourage you, though. We make a point of quoting all of our projects up front so you know how much your specific project will cost from the very beginning.

If you’re looking for a more specific price estimate on a current project, you can upload your files to our Hightail site here.

How long will it take?

This is another one where the answer is different for each project. If you want a whitespace rendering of a single product that you already have 3D models of, the project could be finished in a matter of hours. If we’re building a 6-story home for an interactive tour based on hand-drawn floor plans, the project will take significantly longer. It really depends on the size of your project and the files provided.

What information do you need from us to get started?

Any information you have on the project is helpful. If you have 3D files, elevations, lighting plans, and finishes, you’re in great shape! If you just have hand-drawn floor plans or a rough sketch, that’s fine, too! We can work off of just about anything, but the more information you can provide, the better.

What file types can you accept?

We can accept most file types (.SKP, .STL, .OBJ, & .DWG are all great), but there are a few we’re currently unable to accept, like Revit files.

What type of files/links can we receive the final renderings in?

Still Renderings, Illustrations, and Floor Plans: literally any file type
Animations: any movie file (.MP4, .MOV, .AVI, etc.)
Interactive Tours: Web links, or any movie file (for automated tours)

Will we get to see the work you’re doing before the final product?

Of course! We care about representing your vision and designs as accurately as possible. If you’d like to see how things are going, we’re more than happy to send greyscale preliminaries (before any finishes are applied) and low resolution previews (after the finishes and accessories are added) for your approval. Just keep in mind, preliminaries can slow down the process if your team is busy and can’t approve the scene in a timely manner.

What if our plans change after you’ve started rendering?

No worries. We understand that things change and we’re open to accommodating those changes. Depending on where we are in the rendering process and how extensive the changes are, alterations may be billed on an hourly basis or quoted upfront.

We have a specific idea in mind but it’s not an option listed on your site. Can you still do it?

Most likely, yes! We love when our clients bring us inspiration for new styles and features. In fact, the automated tour feature we recently added started out as a client request. If you’ve seen any styles or features you like but don’t see them on our site, just let us know. We’re confident that we can replicate or create what you’re looking for.

What software do you use?

Octane, 3DS Max,  Blender, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.

Do we need any additional permissions or licenses to use these renderings?

Absolutely not. Everything we create for you is 100% yours to do whatever you please with it. Think of PixelPerfect Studios as an extension of your company.
